Head of Commercial - Generics

Job Summary:

Our client is an emerging, global start-up in the generic business with substantial growth potential from unique products in development.  The company currently seeks additional leadership to enable the founder and CEO to focus on R&D and Product Development and related functions (Regulatory, Medical/Clinical) as well as M&A/Licensing.

The company has received significant investments from a leading Venture Capital company and offers potential equity opportunities via an IPO or a similar transaction

The CCO will lead all Commercial activities including Marketing, Sales, all Operations related to Sales and Marketing as well as all External Operations Including Manufacturing and Distribution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required/MBA is preferred.

  • Significant Generic Pharmaceutical industry experience - at least 15 years

  • At least five years in a Commercial leadership role (Head of Marketing, Sales or equivalent, at least) within a Generic Company in the US with multiple, successful launch experiences

  • Ability to effectively manage all facets of generic Marketing Planning, Pricing, Sales, Customer and Account Relations, Distribution (3PL) and related systems

  • In depth experience and understanding of Generic Institutional Markets

  • Generic injectable products’ marketing experience

  • Proven experience working with Manufacturing and other Operations

  • Expertise with difficult to manufacture/unique generic products

  • Proven experience working with an outsourced/external manufacturing source/supplier

  • Proven experience managing distribution operations,

  • Generic pricing leadership contracting and leadership of the tracking systems

  • Proven experience managing the Trade and National Account teams

  • Expert knowledge of the US and Global generic pharma/biotech industry - issues, trends and their business impact

  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to lead a substantive organization

  • Proven experience working with a CEO and Board
